I am recruiting for a maintenance engineer based in a clean fully automated distribution centre. This position is a great chance for an engineer straight from the Forces. Due to a 6 figure training budget, this organisation have a number of engineers currently working, straight from the RAF and Army. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and 3 phase motors is needed if from the forces.

About the role;

You will be working on a days and nights basis (Panama shift pattern, 12 hour shifts - 2 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off). Responsible for the upkeep of the new automated machinery that has recently been installed on site.
  • To carry out automated manual handling equipment servicing in accordance to the quality standards as set out in the equipment manuals
  • To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
  • To accurately record all work undertaken on the computerised maintenance management system
  • To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to in the utilisation and management of spares
  • To monitor the Flow Controllers and the Maintenance Assistance to ensure best practice is adhered to The organisation specialise in the designing, installation, maintenance and management of automation on behalf of a number of automated distribution centres across the UK, Europe and the US. With over 15 sites in the UK currently.

Salary is £37,000

The Environment;

Involved within the warehouse, is a variety of automated materials handling machinery involving conveyors, sortation machinery, labellers, scanners, printers, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. All PLC controlled electromechanical machinery. The more people that buy products online, the busier and busier the site gets! It is not essential you have experience within this department, however a can do attitude and industrial engineering experience is key!!

Your skills/background;
  • NVQ L3 in Electrical Engineering
  • A background from the armed forces
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, single phase motors
