Our client is a leading Fabless chip company with a large team of software engineers. As a result of significant success they are expanding and looking to strengthen their team with the creation of this new role. They boast a strong workforce who pride themselves on collaboration, communication and conducive working conditions.

Such is their success and ongoing need to serve their future growth plans, the company has developed this new and exciting role to help the software engineering team achieve their full potential. To achieve this, they need an outstanding people manager/coach who has a background in C++ software engineering, performance development of an engineering team and a real passion for getting the best out of people in the team.

As well as being able to shape the future of the team, you will also be able to shape this evolving role - giving you a changing platform to keep you excited/fully engaged/vibrant.

Your role will need you to: -
  • Have a background in software engineering management
  • Have a strong understanding of coding skills in C++
  • Have an excellent coaching style to facilitate full potential
  • Agile/scrum master experience/knowledge
  • Demonstrable experience of people management (specifically with C++ software engineers)
  • Knowledge of software methodologies and best practice
  • Ambitious to grow yourself and your team colleagues
  • An ability to understand the global / detailed technical and business domains

Your role will include recruitment/hiring, personal performance development, mentoring, excellent communication skills, training needs and opportunities to learn/collaborate, performance pay reviews, strategy, developing the way this specific area is managed/delivered, etc..

We expect you will have worked in software development and likely been a scrum master/agile coach and/or software development manager/head of software development.

Salary is up to £80,000 per annum + superb benefits.
