Job Title: Compliance officer

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

Salary: Up to £35,000

Hours: 9am to 5.30pm

Our client is a leading specialist buy to let and residential mortgage lender, offering a superb opportunity to grow an established and expanding business.

Responsibilities for the position of Compliance Officer
  • Provide technical compliance advice to business units
  • Produce regular compliance reports and management information which will be used to monitor performance against its conduct and compliance risk appetite
  • Support the Compliance manager with designated regulatory returns to ensure they are submitted in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support the Compliance manager to maintain conduct and compliance risk policies to ensure they are updated and approved as required
  • Monitor, evaluate regulatory, legislative and industry wide developments (horizon scanning)
  • Provide compliance input as required to business projects and support the business with appropriate and timely advice
  • Maintain compliance records in a structure manner, ensuring key documents are recorded and stored in compliance folders
  • Maintain and update the conduct risk dashboard monthly
  • Coordinate the annual staff conduct risk survey
  • Complete annual registration with ICO, FCA and other bodies
  • Provide support to the data protection officer, producing MI and reports as required
  • Maintain the company's gifts and hospitality log
  • Ensure conduct and compliance-based training modules are reviewed annually
  • Form part of the second line risk leadership team, contributing to the setting of the risk agenda and being a champion for a strong risk culture

Experience required for the role of Compliance officer
  • Experience of working for an FCA regulated business is essential
  • Experience in the mortgage sector with a lender is highly desirable
  • Have a broad understanding of the key concepts of risk management with experience in a similar role
  • Ability to challenge in a constructive and positive manner
  • Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritise appropriately and manage stakeholders
