'AA' Grade BRC accredited, we've invested heavily in systems and plant infrastructure with high speed grating and slicing capability producing over 400mt weekly.

Our Finance team are responsible for all onsite accounting activity including weekly and monthly reports, sales analysis and stock reconciliations. Ensuring we have accurate and timely information is vital to ensuring that we are compliant with all reporting requirements and have visibility of business financial performance.

An opportunity has arisen within our Finance team for an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager (Operations & Supply Chain), you will be responsible for weekly and monthly P&L reporting for the site and will work closely with all departments to ensure accurate and timely information.

Key Duties will include:

- Weekly and monthly report preparation and circulation

- Preparation and analysis of weekly accounts and reporting pack for UK sites

- Month end batch closure and accounting routines

- Weekly and monthly stock reconciliations

- Completion of monthly inter-company reconciliations

- Coordination of periodic stock count processes for UK sites and external storage

- Support accurate forecasting and budgeting processes with timely relevant data

- Develop and maintain effective reporting routines and processes to provide accurate, relevant and timely business information, including:
  • Inventory Management
  • Raw material usage and associated costs
  • Production performance reporting
  • Supply chain performance reporting
  • Activity based cost analysis

Who are we looking for?

You'll have some experience of working in a Finance department with understanding of ledgers and relevant accounting principles. You will have experience of month end reporting and reconciliation of basic accounts and ledgers. Manufacturing experience with knowledge such as sales and gross margin reporting and inventory management would be advantageous.

With responsibility for generating weekly and monthly reports through data downloaded from Oracle, you will have excellent IT skills and good attention to detail. You will be experienced in entering and analysing large volumes of data accurately and quickly. You will be studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA or CIMA) with a track record of exam success, which we would be happy to support.

As part of the Finance team you will demonstrate a positive and professional attitude. With good communication skills, you will be adept at building relationships across the business to enhance financial information and reporting.
