Project Manager - Ampthill.

My client a global leading defence company are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to join their growing and dynamic team based near Ampthill - Bedfordshire. They are seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience of delivering successful Projects in a similar engineering environment such as defence/safety critical.

As a Project Manager you will work with both domestic and international customers and take responsibility for developing baseline plans to deliver commitments and achieve the performance, cost, schedule and quality objectives.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and maintain the programme organisation, roles and responsibilities and the matrix relationship
  • Manage the implementation and performance against the baseline.
  • Manage execution of and transition between all phases.
  • Ensuring timely and thorough requirements development, communication, baselining, configuration control, validation and verification involving all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the programme's plans, schedules, budgets developed and technical, cost and schedule
  • Implementing a Programme Performance Management process, including the application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Ensuring the programmes risks and opportunities are identified
  • Leading the programme team to deliver through empowerment and inspiration
  • Managing stakeholders.

What you'll need:
  • The ideal candidate will hold previous experience within a Project Management role in delivering successful Projects for technical development programmes within similar engineering environment such as defence/safety critical however high reliability background such as rail, aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, medical etc can be considered.
  • Frequent interaction with senior leader's proven record of shaping/influencing financial/strategic decision making.
  • Strong leadership attributes.
  • Ideally hold APMP/APMPQ. APMP qualification or an understanding of the APMP methodologies.

This is a permanent role based in Ampthill - Bedfordshire with a salary up to £60,000 plus excellent benefits and opportunities for training and progression. Please note that this role will work on a 9 day fortnight with the site closed every second Friday.
