The role of a Paraplanner

£22,000 - £32,000 depending on experience

Every client has a unique set of financial circumstances and aspirations. Our Advisers are skilled at establishing their needs and resources in a factfinding meeting and all the pieces of this jigsaw are then presented to a Paraplanner to research the best way to reach the client's stated goals. Working with the Adviser and taking into account all aspects of the client's finances, their attitude to risk, their tax position etc they will conduct their research and produce a report that sets out what the client has, what they would like to achieve and our advice as to how this can be done. Along the way they will use various software programs to help determine the best solution and will be supported at every stage by our robust Compliance system and their colleagues.

The Paraplanner is involved with the advice process from start to finish but is supported by our Administration Team who make the arrangements to set up plans once a client has read the Paraplanner's report and signed the necessary forms to go ahead.

The Paraplanner also provides support to the Adviser by dealing with client queries that arise, so good communication skills are a key attribute for the successful candidate.

Our team of Paraplanners work closely together in order to support each other and share expertise.

A Trainee Paraplanner would work towards the above but, depending on their experience, will have the opportunity to work on parts of the role at their own pace with a view to building their skills and knowledge. The trainee will be able to clearly see their progress using a training plan that sets out each stage of the role where achievements and competencies are recorded.

The ideal candidate will have been working in Financial Services for a couple of years, preferably as a Paraplanner or Trainee Paraplanner. They will be part qualified or can demonstrate that they are committed to moving from a Financial Services Administration role into Paraplanning and are ready to commence studying the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Advice. Financial backing and study time off is provided by the Company as well as support from colleagues also taking or having already achieved the same qualifications.
