Our client is looking for a Lead Inspector to be responsible for the delivery of inspection processes for their manufacturing/engineering business based in Romford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring products conform to design data, customer and AS9100 requirements. You will head up the daily management of functional targets for full on-time delivery of the inspection functions in line with the business requirements whilst ensuring compliant product, including the receipt of product from external sources.

As the lead inspector you will also be responsible for the delegation and local management of workload within the function and advising on problem resolution.

As the ideal candidate you will have the following experience;
  • Able to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings, specifications and FAIR documentation.
  • Familiar with Goods inward inspection of finished products / components and experience in dealing with external customers and suppliers.
  • Aerospace industry experience essential and the sanctioning of products
  • Experience of inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements.
  • Comfortable managing resources to fulfil business needs inclusive
  • Experience of setting and using a wide variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Experience of Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming techniques.
  • Ideally have experience with Rolls Royce
  • Working knowledge and understanding of 6S principles and objectives.
  • Able to read and accurately interpret engineering detail and assembly drawings, metric and imperial including extensive knowledge of GD&T requirements
  • Experience of being responsible for the content of the company Quality Management System which is applicable to product verification.
