Salary: £22,000 - £24,000

Hours: Mon to Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm

Location: Uxbridge

Overview:

The main purpose of this role is to effectively handle and negotiate claims in a proactive and efficient way enabling us to make a recovery of our outlay from the responsible party as quickly as possible in order to maximise profitability.

Responsibilities:
  • Confident negotiation with third parties in order to achieve successful settlement results
  • Application of the ABI GTA, relevant case law and credit hire principles in order to settle cases
  • Apply a structured approach to managing your own caseload
  • Pro-actively make outbound calls to insurers to discuss cases and agree settlement terms
  • Comprehensively review and appraise cases prior to escalating to your line manager
  • Liaise with other parties such as solicitors, insurers and repairers regarding ongoing cases
  • Flexibility to take on related tasks and projects to support the collections department and the wider business as required
  • Provide support to the Recoveries Team Leader by ensuring delivery of own performance against agreed objectives, KPI's and SLA's
  • To adhere to Company processes with regard to FCA compliance and Treating Customers Fairly.


Essential Skills:

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Confident negotiator
  • Good organisational skills, strong ability to prioritise and high attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Has a working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Numeracy skills to be able to understand and effectively settle our credit hire invoices
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and an ability to think 'outside the box'


Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience within the credit hire or motor insurance industry
  • A working knowledge of the Highway Code, common accident scenarios and standard driving practises.
