Interested? About the position: SERMO is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our team at our London office! In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor across multiple accounts to strengthen and assist in our financial accounting. This position is for entrepreneurial self-starters that have a strong desire to progress a career in finance. The Assistant Financial Accountant should be an organized individual with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment, and have strong experience of accounting systems and numerical and data processing skills, with a particular focus on finance. You will work closely with many parts of the organization, including product, technology, marketing, client success and the rest of the sales teams to accomplish aggressive goals that will keep SERMO growing, innovating and staying at the forefront of our industry. What You'll Do * Assist with all aspects of Group, UK and US Financial Accounting, and related records * Perform Group Consolidation, Group and UK Statutory Accounts, Other statutory filings for review by manager * Assist with gathering information required for US/UK Tax Returns - Data submission and query response (US multiple state and federal filings; UK corporate tax filing) * Reviewing Non US/UK Entity Submissions as part of Group Consolidation, Supporting Local Finance Teams with local reporting as required * Assisting with Group, UK and US Annual Audits * Group Cash Management * Maintaining Group Insurance Policies (E&O, D&O, Workers Comp, Umbrella, Property) * UK and US Payroll (Review & posting) * US 401k Audit (Supporting US HR Team) * Group Headcount File, Monthly Payroll Reporting * Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable * Maintaining Strong Control Environment, through Balance Reconciliations * Assist with the implementation of new systems (HR system, Payroll analytics, Finance system) * Updating of current processes, including excel based reporting What's Required * Part qualified ACCA (or equivalent) * Accuracy in all work performed * Self-starter & shows initiative * Strong Experience of Accounting Systems * Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 * Numerical and data processing skills * Superior attention to detail and excellent communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills, independence, initiative and a sense of productive empathy * Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment * Strong knowledge of management information systems (Excel to intermediate or advanced level) * Internal Client-facing (Senior Management) experience working in a professional environment * Dedication to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility * The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines * Outstanding organizational skills, conscientiousness and proactivity We offer * Competitive salary (dependent upon skills and experience) * Dynamic and challenging international environment * Internal training program * Life assurance, income protection, private health insurance * 25 days holiday plus bank holiday * Season ticket loan, subsidized gym membership * Auto-enrolment Pension Scheme Confidentiality guaranteed and only selected applicants will be contacted.
