Cathcart Energy are looking for an experienced Manager to act as a key player within a New Project Development Team in UK & Ireland acquiring new energy-related sites and delivering new wind farm development portfolio.

You will be responsible for the regional new sites portfolio and running the progression of the new projects to the point of making an investment decision to progress a planning application, assessing planning and technical risks, securing land and ensuring commercial viability.

This is an externally facing role and you will be working within a region to acquire new sites and deliver new projects into Phase 2.

For this role:

You will need to strive to embrace and develop lean processes that deliver project objectives and reduce waste within the project delivery teams and the wider organisation.

Add customer value and reduce costs (DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX) for projects ensuring project viability on a subsidy-free basis post RO availability through efficient working, careful scoping, procurement and creative engineering and design solutions.

Successfully engaging with landowners and land agents concerning competitors and win tenders for potential new Sites.

Managing internal and external resources as required to deliver projects to Phase 2, including planning, environmental, engineering, technical, environmental assessments grid studies as well as solicitors and land agents concerning the property.

Communication of key issues & risks to the Head of Wind Projects. Ensure the Head of Wind Projects is updated on progress and involved in critical decisions that have a material impact on a project's value or programme.

Budget responsibility - ensure project budgets are up to date, accurate and tracked.

Ensure variances of >£10K are reconciled. Review all project budgets for annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts.

You will need to be Degree Qualified in an environmental, engineering, technical, planning or science-based subject or equivalent experience.
