The purpose of this role is to provide Product Company Technical support for current and legacy Dry pumps to a major US end-user, ensuring products and processes meet specifications, business needs, quality requirements and customers expectations.
  • Support customer facing engineers and account teams with diagnosis and resolution of problems in customer and internal situations.
  • Undertake project/validation work to support customer investigations, internal quality projects (SAQ), safety issues, supplier relocation/cost reduction programs. Projects may include changes to design of products.
  • Support standards updates, requalification and programs.
  • Plan and control personal work to ensure assignments are delivered to time and budget, support the detailed planning of activities as required.
  • Document all work to defined standards, producing documentation/test reports as necessary and publishing them on internal systems so that they can be retrieved by other interested parties and published outside of the company if required.
  • Carry out testing in house and on site according to the test plan, resolving problems as they arise, to provide intended test data from experimental design.
  • Undertake analysis of test data to derive conclusions and recommendations or further actions and necessary subsequent investigations.
  • Contribute, within the semi division for the improvement of procedures and practices, so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the division are improved.
  • Liaise closely with other teams within the semi division to meet project objectives.
  • Work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety policy at all times

Education level:
  • Preferred bachelor or University degree in engineering or a combination of education and experience relevant to the role.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience as a technical support engineer in an electromechanical engineering role.

Relevant previous experience:

Previous experience in the semiconducter dry pump business is preferential or experience gained with small clearance rotating mechanisms and associated control systems would also be considered suitable for this role.

Language skills:
  • Advance spoken and written English
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues in other regions where first language may not be English.

Other skills and knowledge:
  • Experience in temperature control , gas distribution, pressure/flow measurement, lubrication, leak detections and software control systems.Able to demonstrate methodical logical problem solving using the 8D process.
  • Ability to interpret complex customer requests and data to derive into detailed test plans for issue resolution.High level of knowledge for manufacturing processes and technologies used in an electromechanical product.
  • Experience in the use of analytical and modelling tools.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft office applications.
  • Experience with legislative, regulatory and semi standards.
  • Fully able to communicate internally and externally with senior managers, peers suppliers/sub-contractors and customers.
