Aerospace Planning Engineer - £30k to £35k - Verwood
Our client are a successful CNC Machining & Assembly Workshop, working predominately as a sub-contractor supplying into the Aerospace industry for both military and civil projects for over 30 years.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful Engineer will work as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment liaising with Customers, production Department and sub-contract suppliers on all aspects from the supply of raw materials, machining, assembly and surface treatments of Aerospace components.
Detailed Duties of Planning Engineer:
* Working with customer to understand their requirements.
* Working with specialist suppliers for processes that may be required for the completion of a part.
* Detail out the process and working instruction that are required for the production of a part to the customers requirements.
* Work with other member of the company to procure and/or design and produce any tooling that may be required for the production parts.
Experience:
* Must be able to read detailed manufacturers drawings and to produce machining manufacturing methods in conjunction with customer specifications for turning, milling, grinding and the treatments of composites.
* Must be able to produce detailed sketches and technique sheets to aid manufacture if required.
* Must be familiar with costing processes and compiling costs and quotations in a structured manor for customers.
* An appreciation and knowledge of Aerospace related materials and procurement process is essential.
* An understanding of heat treatments is necessary.
* Knowledge of production software such as MRP systems would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of Lean techniques would be an advantage.
* Proven use of tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA's) and control/quality plans required.
Special Factors:
A good working knowledge of surface treatments would be an advantage.
Salary / Package:
Subject to experience and negotiation a competitive salary will be awarded, and after a qualifying period benefits are included.
25 days paid holiday per year plus paid bank holiday subject to working patterns.
Salary would be paid monthly.

The basic working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday 07:30am to 16:00pm
