We are retained by this prestigious client with a strong heritage within their industry. They are a manufacturer with a notable name. Due to continued success we are seeking to recruit a Product Manager for this sought-after role.


Representing a trusted brand with strong recognition & market share within the UK and internationally, we are a lean marketing & product management team with an aggressive development & launch schedule, operating in a fast moving and increasingly crowded market. We are looking for a talented individual to drive the development of our portfolio, manage its full life-cycle and provide the vital link between the Market and Company Engineering, Sales, Operations and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

* Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting Market Research. Specifically:

* Lighting Market

* Electrical Wholesalers

* Electrical Contractors

* End Users

* Competitors

* Translating and communicating these findings to Internal Stakeholders and make recommendations regarding the introduction of new products and the development of existing products

* Advising the marketing teams of the focus of promotional campaigns and product launches and advising on who to target the campaigns to i.e. wholesaler, contractor, end user

* Communication of product positioning, key benefits and target customer

* Working with the Forecasting department to forecast the effect on sales as a result of new product introduction and product improvements

* Brief internal and external stakeholders in new products and the existing product portfolio

* Advise and make recommendations to the Marketing Director on price positioning of the product range

* Evaluate the pricing of the product range on a quarterly basis and advise the Marketing Director on these evaluations

* To take ownership of the product lifecycle and manage the critical path to ensure that launch dates are met

* Advising and making recommendations on the withdrawal of products from the product range and managing phase outs

Person Specification

* High energy individual with positive outlook, can-do attitude and ability to blend creative flair with execution rigour

* Strong analytical, communication & presentation skills

* Ideally with good knowledge of the lighting (or other building services) market, the electrical trade channel and construction industry specification channels

* 3 to 5 years' experience working in a marketing or product management function within the Lighting or Building Services industry ideally.
