Simple Recruitments Services currently recruiting Site Manager for Materials Recovery Facility near Andover.

Primary Role:
With full site responsibility on shift, ensure the Material Recovery Facility is run in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. Working as part of the site Management Team, ensure that the overall business objectives of the site are met whilst contributing fully to any continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

During shift ensure all operations on site are run efficiently with a focus on delivering quality products and services at a competitive cost.
• Ensure conformance to all processes and activities and that all data/records are collected as required
• Ensure shift personnel contribute in a positive manner to continuous improvement activities on site
• Identify and implement corrective actions in order to improve site efficiency, quality and customer service
• Liaise with all areas of the business in a professional manner to deliver improved performance and support the company objectives
• Lead and participate in improvement activities and projects completing actions in a timely manner
• Provide cover for the Site Manager during periods when they are absent from site
Health and Safety
• On shift ensure operations are carried out in a manner that is compliant with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
• Ensure operations are carried out safely with the appropriate controls in place (including risk and COSHH assessments, SSOW and method statements) and that personnel are trained to a fully competent and safe standard
• Ensure plant is safe to use and fit for purpose
• Provide timely intervention for any unsafe activity identifying and implementing appropriate corrective actions
Business and Financial
• Ensure costs are controlled on shift making decisions based on fact and data
• Ensure quality of product and service is maintained to a high standard in order to maximise returns
• As a management representative of the business act in a professional manner at all times
• Manage shift team ensuring all individuals are given appropriate feedback including recognising good performers and addressing poor performance
• Carry out effective communications with team members to support them in undertaking their duties
• Promote good team working both within and across shift teams ensuring all personnel are working for the benefit of the site overall
Generic Accountabilities
• All employees are responsible for safe behaviour and adhering to company rules, policies and procedures
• All employees are expected to participate in and contribute to the Company's drive for Continuous Improvement
• The above list is not exhaustive and you will be required to undertake other duties within your capability to support the needs of the business

Essential Requirement:

Qualifications/ Education/ Training

* WAMITAB certificate

* 5 GCSE - Grade C and above including Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)

* Formal HSE training (IOSH 4 day management training)


* 3yrs experience working on a waste recovery site

* Experience at managing operational teams
