Your new company
Your new school is a mixed community provision for 11-16-year olds, specialising in SEMH. Based on the Wirral the school has been rated Good by Ofsted and is currently in a period of growth with their pupil intake increasing this academic year. This innovative school pride themselves on their cross curricular projects. All pupils within the school have been identified as having or could have SEMH or ASC as a primary need. The school also caters for a range of other Special Educational Needs such as - Asperger's Syndrome, Dyspraxia, OCD, ODD and ADHD.

Your new role
Working as a base teacher with a select group of pupils who you will support through a primary-based model you will work to identifying any academic gaps from their primary or prior school placements. Following their individual education, health and care plan your ultimate aim will be to support these students to be able to access the main school and develop the skills needed to achieve their full potential. In the Base you will cover a range of subjects including Maths, English, Science and Life Skills. You will continuously promote independence as well as developing social and communication skills, self-esteem and resilience whilst allowing the pupils to thrive in an ASC friendly environment.

What you'll need to succeed
As a specialist SEN Teacher you will be experienced in working with young people with additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, social communication difficulties. You should have a minimum of 40 days experience working with children within the last 2 years. . Previous experience of working specifically as a Nurture Base Teacher would be advantageous. NQT's are welcome and QTS is a requirement.
