Civil Engineering CAD Technician

About the role Due to our increasing workload we are currently seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Technician in our Leicester head office. You will be responsible for preparing CAD drawings / Revit models from engineer's sketches. The role will involve: * BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows and project set up * Technical management of project BIM data sets * Manage and maintain project content and source additional content for project teams * Helping to technically deliver BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination * Provide technical support for BIM enabling software applications to the project team * Audit and review models in Autodesk Revit * Manage / Update BIM Project Documents Working as part of the Civil Engineering team on a range of projects predominately for clients in the public sector (education, healthcare, blue light, defence, utilities), this role provides an exciting opportunity to develop within a dynamic team supported by a medium-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy with 11 offices across the UK. About you Ideally you will have: * Experience of working in a project coordination role for CAD applications * Experience in Autodesk Revit, NavisWorks & AutoCAD (preferred) * Knowledge of basic construction process's and procedures * BIM knowledge and interest in working with Construction Technology * Ability to interpret drawings into a finished product and to create accurate and detailed drawings * Understanding of construction practicalities and detail standards * Understanding of engineering/structural/civil drawings * Excellent spatial and design skills to be able to visualise projects in 2D and 3D * Good communication skills to work with the project team to understand and interpret their designs * Good organisation and time management skills to complete work to project deadlines * A flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice Remuneration / benefits We value and promote a positive work-life balance, and encourage every member of our team to get involved with charity, sports, community and company events.
