To help us achieve this vision we're looking for a Finance Officer to join our Rents & Service Charge team in Oldham for a full time, 9 months fixed term contract.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Finance Officer to support our service charge administration service. Reporting into the Rents & Service Charge Supervisor and working within the service charge team, your role will be to deliver an effective service charge accounting service across Guinness to meet legal and regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver accurate and timely service charge estimates and statement of accounts for all service charges, liaising with operational teams.
  • Monitor actual performance of service charges against estimates, analysing variances.
  • Exercise effective internal controls, highlight errors and take action to rectify control failures.
  • Undertake reconciliations, identifying and addressing data or process issues.
  • Deliver the effective delivery of leasehold accountancy reviews and audits and resolve all queries effectively and within required timescales.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and resolve all queries and deliver recommendations within required timescales.
  • Engage in the continuous improvement culture and lead and support improvement activities.
  • Take ownership and support operational colleagues to ensure we meet the Guinness service standards through training, advice and guidance and effectively responding to queries within service level agreements.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:
  • Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed targets.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.

Additional desirable experience would be:
  • Experience of month end processes.
  • Experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent finance systems.
  • Experience of working in the social housing sector.
  • Experience of rent and service charge applications and systems.
  • Knowledge of rent and service charge regulation and legislation.

Essential Qualifications:

Level 2 Maths and English or Equivalent
