Job Title: Legal Audio Secretary

The Company are a dynamic Yorkshire law firm with offices in Dewsbury, Horsforth, Selby and Wakefield. With a 70 year record of excellent service, they're a highly acclaimed choice for the West Yorkshire area and beyond.

They're currently looking for two audio secretaries to join the family and care departments in Wakefield.

The Role
  • Assist and support head of department and fee earners in the family department
  • Undertake audio typing of client correspondence/forms/documentation
  • Liaise with clients and other professionals
  • Use of case management and document management systems
  • Issue client care letters
  • Opening, closing and retrieval of client files
  • General administrative duties
  • Work as part of a team, establishing good working relationships at all levels
  • Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up to date diary

The Candidate:

You must have a strong legal secretarial background with proven experience of working within a professional law firm and specifically a family department. A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, as are excellent IT skills and a strong team ethic. Good communication and relationship building skills are also a must, along with the ability to meet deadlines. They use a case management system along with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, so experience of working with these and other bespoke legal packages is necessary.

You must also be able to demonstrate strong audio typing skills (using digital dictation), be a strong team player, along with having a flexible attitude to work.

You must be highly organised and able to work on own initiative to tight deadlines.

Preference will be given to candidates with family secretarial, digital dictation and case management systems experience.
