Principle Engineer/Architect - Newcastle - (£50,000 - £60,000)

The organisation in question are based in Newcastle (City Centre) and they are keen to recruit an experienced Architect, ideally with a good understanding of the Microsoft Stack.

The roles are 'full stack' and they are keen to speak to applicants with a background in Microsoft .NET technologies. You'll be working on cutting edge projects, primarily enterprise in scale and focused around emerging markets such as Big Data, Cloud and AI. As a Principle Engineer/Architect, you'll be expected to work across the full Software Development Lifecycle, working with both internal and external teams.

You're Responsibilities:
  • Be accountable for all technical architecture decisions within the practice area
  • Communicate clear vision and guidelines for architecture and coding best practices across the company.
  • Identify areas of innovation in the technology and product spaces and keep abreast of ongoing developments in the field.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Leadership (meaning managers, Directors, CTO) to roll out large engineering initiatives and improvements.
  • Consult with engineers and product on technical solutions and drive high quality software decisions.
  • Do or delegate R&D, prototyping, and assessment for determining current and future technical solutions.
  • Development of frameworks, foundational, and complex parts of the code base.
  • Documentation of technical architecture, tools, and other tech specifications that an engineer would need to effectively do their job.

As an organisation, they are heavily Agile and your role will see you adopting a range of Agile methodologies as well as modern software development processes including CI/CD, DevOps and Test Driven Development (TDD). Agile experience is specifically important.
