Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to fulfill a Permanent role in Oxford.

Salary up to £45,000

Plus a great Benefits Package which includes;

Job Purpose:

The Cyber Security Analyst is a critical role which will support our client to enable a greater understanding of how it can better protect itself against the increasing risk of cyber-attacks. This role will provide the appropriate support to the organisation to enable effective risk management and mitigation, guidance and assurances for the Senior Risk Information Officer. This role is required to assess the Cyber Security risks that are faced by our client, helping design and build secure solutions to protect against cyber-attack. Cyber Security is increasingly part of the work undertaken right across the business. The role will also be required to investigate and analyse all aspects of Cyber Security and threats against the businesses.

Nature & Scope
  • The Security Department is highly pressured, and the role demands a high degree of honesty and integrity and attention to detail. Act on facts; be objective, unprejudiced and impartial in dealing with others and forming dispassionate interpretations, having regard for the law, relevant guidelines and best practice
  • The role requires decision making, and the ability to escalate decisions where appropriate
  • The role will require professional relationships at all levels across the organisation and with key stakeholders
  • The role will require occasional (overnight) travel throughout the UK to pursue investigations
  • During the course of employment, the Post holder may have access to, see or hear information that could be classed as either sensitive or classified and will be required not to disclose such information
  • The Post holder must comply with equalities legislation and promote diversity

Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Demonstrable previous experience within protective security including investigative, and security education i.e. a proven security background before specialising within the Cyber security field
  • Network Analysis; Host Forensics Analysis; Malware Analysis
  • User investigations; Incident Response experience
  • Knowledge of different threat actor groups and their characteristics
  • Accredited or Certified in any or all of the following
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

    Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP)

    CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

    ISO 27001 Internal Auditor
  • Significant knowledge of Ethernet networks and IP protocols
  • Technical Ability to rapidly learn and put that learning into practice is critical
  • Ability to write reports and management presentations
  • Ability to work under pressure
