We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to the Chichester College Group Health & Safety team who provide advice, guidance and training to managers and staff to enable them to carry out their statutory duties with regard to Health & Safety. You will be based at our Crawley Campus on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,087 - £23,045 per annum.

The Chichester College Group is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 4 Colleges: one at Chichester, one at Crawley, one at Worthing and one at Brinsbury near Pulborough, which is land-based. Through our Colleges we educate and train around 25,000 full and part time students every year and provide teaching excellence to meet the future needs of the regions' employers.

About the Health & Safety Advisor role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, your main role will be to carry out health and safety checks with employers who are potentially employing Apprentices or have agreed to offer work experience opportunities to college students. As a NEBOSH Certificate holder, you will carry out a diverse range of other duties including audits, investigations and liaising with occupational health.

Our ideal Health & Safety Advisor should have the below skills and experience:

- NEBOSH, IOSH or Health & Safety Vetting Training in line with SFA/EFA requirements

- Experience working with young people, adult learners and employers with the ability to problem solve

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

- Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace, including specific legislation pertaining to employment for young people

- Knowledge of work based training

- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
