Brewster Partners are working with a Sheffield based client who are looking for a Production Team Leader.


Job Purpose:

The post holder will ensure products and components are made to the correct specification. They will further ensure that all equipment is in a safe, clean condition and operated safely. The post holder has a responsibility for their area to ensure operators are working to best practices and within the roles of their job description and company handbook.

Ensure all products are processed to the instruction shown on the route card
Ensure all documentation relates to the correct w/o, part number and revision before work commences
Ensure correct use of the scheduling system, and data capture unit. Note, operation times need to be achieved for the schedule to work correctly, if for any reason this cannot be met, inform your line manager with reasons of delay, or improvement.
Working with production and planning to agree a 14 day short term plan for the department, looking to reduce set ups and maximise resource utilisation.
From this 14 day plan the person would be responsible for:
Assessing tooling & equipment requirements and preparing to ensure tooling/equipment is available on time.
Checking and ensuring all in process inspection requirements are followed. Identifying any issues.
Working with the Production Manager to drive KPI targets throughout the department.
Being proactive, investigating, testing and driving efficiencies to reduce lead times.
First port of call for any issues in the department.
Attending department related meetings as required to determine and follow through corrective actions to improve quality performance.
Responsible for departmental equipment being organised and tidy (Following 5S/Lean initiatives).
Actively encourage overtime reduction
Ensure holiday entitlements are managed to suit production requirements
Being conscious of calibration/maintenance requirements of equipment in your area
Ensure that employees are adequately informed, instructed, trained and supervised related to their job roles and responsibilities.
Ensure the QMS requirements, policies and procedures are complied with.
Ensure the H&S legal requirements, policies and procedures are complied with.
