Seeking an Assistant IT Manager - BrandonAn exciting opportunity for candidates who have experience of providing all round IT support on an internal basis. You will be providing support across two sites for our client alongside some staff who are based remotely and working from home therefore you may be required on odd occasions to travel and a driving license will be essential. You will provide support on computers and general infrastructure. You will work as part of a small team with two other members of staff.
Start: ASAP
Location: Brandon, Suffolk
Salary: £Negotiable
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm

This role is not your usual IT position! It will cover everything from providing first line support to planning and deploying major upgrade projects. There will be the opportunity for career progression for the right candidate and we are inviting applications from self-motivated and ambitious candidates!
Duties:
  • First line support to 130 + users over 2 main sites plus remote workers in field
  • Manage and support operating systems, applications and network software
  • Configuration, management and maintenance of network systems
  • Play an active part in the development of a systems road-map
  • Install, maintain and upgrade all hardware
  • Working with departmental heads to offer the business hardware and services within set budget
  • Ensure any server/infrastructure/desktop hardware resources provisioned are fit for purpose
  • Ensure desktop architecture is regularly IT audited, and software updates applied
  • Maintain records of company provided hardware including mobile communications devices
  • Be part of the vendor management and selection process on many infrastructure services
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience within an IT support role (5 Years + is desirable)
  • Advanced technical ability to manage and support operating systems, applications & networks
  • Ability to install, maintain and upgrade all hardware
  • Good networking skills and knowledge of Windows Servers and MS Exchange are essential
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience gained within a manufacturing environment would be desirable
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff internally & externally
