This company is now part of a European group that distributes specialist products to a global customer base. The business is led by a small, experienced management team and operates with a degree of autonomy that allows them to be agile and responsive to changing customer demands. An impending retirement in the accounts department has now prompted the need to recruit an experienced Finance Manager into a broad role that will also include responsibility for routine HR and admin matters. It is essential therefore that potentially suitable candidates have experience of the varied duties associated with a finance role in a £5m - £10m turnover company, these will include:
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts
  • Supervision of credit control
  • Preparation of files for annual audit
  • Liaising with parent company on financial matters
  • Liaising with banks and finance providers
  • Purchasing foreign currency
  • VAT - Quarterly returns, Intrastats, EC Sales
  • Managing payroll and employee records
  • Liaising with external HR consultants
  • Pensions and insurances
  • Participation in Company and Group management meetings

The preferred candidate would have a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA or similar) or be qualified by experience, good knowledge of Excel and ideally experience with a large ERP system would be advantageous. Based at nice offices in the south Preston area, my client is looking for someone with a good amount of experience who would view this as a long term position, they are also willing to be flexible about hours and working from home when appropriate.
