Applications are invited for the role of ICT Technician (Networks) based at our clients' Service Headquarters.

Be part of a motivated and capable team, responsible for the provision and support of a sustainable ICT infrastructure which underpins an effective, modern Fire and Rescue service.

Their ICT team is key in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of the Service's ICT infrastructure. Ensuring a customer focused system design and secure environment are at the forefront of everything they do. They are now seeking an innovative and proactive ICT Technician who will be a fundamental team member responsible for the provision of first and second line support to their busy service desk. An independent thinker, you'll have the ability to resolve incidents yourself using known practices and procedures alongside coming up with fresh and alternative solutions using up to date research and best practice applications.

Main elements of the role within the team are:
  • Support and maintain the Fire Service's ICT networks
  • Assist in the development of the network infrastructure
  • Be an integral part of future specifications and projects
  • Assist in the continual improvement of the infrastructure and related documentation

You will have:
  • Experience in ICT network environment
  • Experience in designing, implementing and administering networks and network security
  • Exposure to traffic engineering such as routing and switching protocols
  • Advanced knowledge and exposure to network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to contribute and work as part of a busy and flexible team
  • Proficient in technical research across a wide range of technologies
