About the role

To support the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful management, statutory and regulatory information.

Key accountabilities:

·Support the delivery of:

·Monthly deliverables within agreed timeframes including the Executive Board Report and monthly investment reconciliations.

·Quarterly deliverables within agreed timeframes including the preparations of VAT returns, IPT returns and quarterly PRA solvency submissions

·Annual statutory reports and the statutory audit process. This includes participating in the research and implementation of new and updated accounting standards

·Annual regulatory returns including quantitative reporting templates and narrative reports

·The annual financial planning process, rating agency reporting and capital management as requested

·Ensure accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of information at all times. This includes the management of controls and standards to mitigate risk/error and ensure compliance with key operation and accounting policies and procedures

·Ensure agreed standards of financial control and the risk management framework are embedded in all business processes

·Support the delivery of other statutory, regulatory information and Board reports for Executive Board Reporting and associated committees.

·Ad hoc project work and support for other areas of Finance

·Actively expand personal technical skills both informally (networking internally and externally, internet, industry press) and formally (In-house training, CPD)

·Support submission of annual Corporation tax returns

Key performance indicators:

·All information produced is accurate, insightful and produced on time

·Positive feedback from stakeholders regarding information provided

·Successful delivery of annual statutory and regulatory reporting process

Knowledge, skills and experience:

·Trainee Accountant

·Relevant qualifications (ideally studying towards ACCA)

·Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills (will be tested)

·Organised and able to prioritise effectively

·Ability to build strong relationships

·Good IT skills particularly Excel (will be tested)

·Good communication and influencing skills
