A fantastic opportunity has arisen due to team development and organisational growth of our leading client based in Stoke on Trent who are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant.

Our client is a hugely successful organisation who provide a number of technical services throughout the UK.

This is a newly created role due to continued growth. As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will be working in a dynamic finance team. Supporting the Financial Controller, they are looking for a strong team player who has a flexible and versatile approach. You will have the ability to work to strict tight deadlines and manage various accounting tasks as part of your daily role.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to make their mark and progress, working closely with the Financial Controller to assist in the smooth running of the finance function. The role will consist of preparing management accounts for two companies within the group.

Duties for the Assistant Management Accountant role will include:
  • Preparation of the trial balance and monthly accounts to strict deadlines
  • Liaising with and working closely with budget holders, investigating variances
  • Journal Preparation and posting
  • VAT returns
  • Stock input, analysis and investigation
  • Standard costings
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Departmental reporting
  • Completing budgets and forecasts
  • Development of systems and processes to improve the finance function

    Candidate Requirements:
  • A dynamic individual with experience of preparing management accounts
  • Fully AAT qualified/Studying towards ACA/ACCA - full study package will be provided by the company
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to put forward new ideas to the team
  • Advanced Excel skills (V Lookups / Pivot tables / Manipulating data)
  • Ideally previous experience working in Practice would be advantageous

    Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.45pm
