We are currently looking to recruit a Visual Merchandiser, to work at our busy Office in Kirby Muxloe Leicester. This is a demanding fast paced role and requires the successful candidate to be extremely organised.

Primary Objective

The primary objectives of the Visual Merchandiser are to optimise store design to positively impact financial results whilst producing & standardising communications between head office & the stores. The Visual Merchandiser leads the development of merchandise layouts which create an appealing environment for Poundstretcher customer and meets the goals of buying team and directors.

The Visual Merchandiser will also have primary responsibility for defining high level scope for intent, defining space change scope, scale and presentation changes and ensuring that key decision makers are involved in the planning process.

This position also ensures that details and approvals are accounted for in the process of implementing the concept and aligning all cross functional team members in order to drive change.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of merchandise plans which optimise space productivity for product line reviews, reset, remerchandising, and new store projects.
  • Ensure category allocation within the department meets space and performance goals.
  • Lead the development of planogram presentation strategies.
  • Co-ordinate and assemble Merchandising Presentation Guidelines to communicate presentation goals and planogram versioning, to include store specific challenges, as required
  • Plan all changes to Out of Bay (low profile areas, major vistas, graphics, fixtures, end caps, and side caps) and In Bay (product presentation, shelf capacity, lighting requirements, and planogram standards)

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail Management, or related field experience in retail store planning and design (may be a combination of visual merchandising, store planning, planogramming, or store environment experiences)
  • Experience in developing the retail department visualisation plan across multiple categories
  • Experience in interpretation of category attributes and space allocation
  • Experience working on a cross-functional team/project
  • Experience in program/project lead for complex presentation changes
  • Experience in a role that requires strategy and planning
  • Demonstrated experience giving presentations at multiple levels in an organisation

Experience within a similar role is essential.
