Our client is seeking an ambitious candidate who will be passionate about helping them deliver market-leading communications within the pensions sector. Our client has exciting growth plans and you will be a key part of helping them improve their market share.

This role will enable you to develop your marketing and communication skills. You will initially work alongside the Head of Communications, while reporting to the Client Communications Manager. This role is likely to last for a minimum period of 15 months and will then transition to working directly with the Client

Communications Team, to deliver communication solutions for all clients. The role with the Client

Communications Manager will involve similar duties and require the same competencies and experience

in the candidate.

As well as helping the Head of Communications deliver effective and engaging member communications,

important aspects of the role will include driving marketing, project management and team coordination.

While experience of these types of roles will be useful, we are interested in seeing candidates who have a

desire to develop skills in these areas.

The person:
  • The desire to help the Head of Communications build a market-leading communications, with the passion to deliver help for members, which makes a difference to their financial future.
  • A strong communicator who is able to provide clear and concise written and verbal communications, appropriate to the audience.
  • Meticulous approach to their work, particularly when dealing with writing and editing copy and proof-reading documents.
  • Well organised and positive attitude with the ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage their work.
  • Desire to contribute and implement ideas for improving processes and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, across multiple projects; delivering to time and quality standards.
  • Produces consistent and high-quality results.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Good academic record including Maths and English to GCSE or equivalent qualification(minimum Grade C).
  • Right to work in the UK essential

  • The role is likely to appeal to individuals with at least two years' relevant experience, although we will consider all applications on an individual basis against core competencies.
  • Experience in a communications, marketing, PR or planning role.
  • Experience of working within the financial services industry and, specifically, pensions or employee benefits would be highly desirable.
  • Experience of developing communications, managing web site content, distilling complex topics into simple language for audiences with varying degrees of understanding, using multiple communication channels.
  • Some experience or desire to develop in the area of project planning and management would be beneficial to the role.
  • Managing expectations, deliverables and external support.
  • Knowledge of best practice communication and engagement tools, including digital and social media.
  • A basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.) would be beneficial but not essential.
