Pure Staff Ltd are currently recruiting for a capable, friendly, experienced credit controller to join our small Accounts / Head Office department to be responsible for all aspects of the sales ledger including efficient cash collection, allocation, reconciliation and query resolution in addition to general account maintenance. Reporting directly into the Finance Director, you will be organised, professional and confident in chasing debt on the phone and making high volumes of calls.

Key Accountabilities
  • Chasing debt via phone and email
  • Inputting payments onto Sage and allocating to the respective invoices
  • Liaising with customers and internal departments concerning queries on invoices with the aim to resolve as efficiently as possible
  • Creating weekly sales invoices and sending out by email/post
  • Ensuring purchase order numbers are obtained and recorded accurately
  • Raising sales credit notes
  • Sending customer statements by post and email
  • Credit checking new and existing customers
  • Minimising the organisation's exposure to late payment and bad debt by regularly performing credit reviews on customer accounts and making sure customers are trading within their assigned limits
  • General office administration, such as scanning and saving remittance advices, filling, and other data entry tasks

Successful applicants must have the following qualities/experience:
  • At least 1 year of experience in credit control and a good working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Excel
  • A tenacious approach to collecting debt, excellent communication skills, a calm and confident telephone manner; able to empathise and find suitable resolutions to outstanding payment queries; ability to handle difficult calls
  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships and internal relationships; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation
  • Committed & hard-working with a good work ethic; enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to work independently but also work as part of a team
  • Highly organised with good and accurate administrative skills
  • A good understanding of confidentially issues

Preferred (yet not essential) qualities/experience:
  • Experience working in a recruitment agency
  • AAT Level 3
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
