My client are recruiting for a Credit Control Specialist within Basildon, Essex.

Package Details:
  • £25k basic salary
  • £2k annual bonus (based on company and individual performance)
  • Hours: 8:30am - 5pm (Monday - Thursday) 8:30am - 4pm (Friday)
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension 5.5% Employer contribution
  • Death In Service x2 salary
  • 25 days holiday (inclusive of mandatory days taken for Christmas shut down)
  • Study packages, Internal and External training etc

The successful candidate will work on behalf of our client alongside our two existing Credit Controllers representing our Group Brands as well as our Senior Accountant and CFO.

Working within the finance team the successful candidate will have some experience within Credit Control/Finance and a good understanding of managing a ledger.

Overall objectives
  • Ensure customer payments are received in accordance with account terms
  • Process payments received accurately
  • Liaise with customers, sales administration and area managers to resolve problems, following up to ensure successful resolution
  • Resolve aged debtors clearing down outstanding queries and issues
  • Improve cash flow and ledger profile
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with this post

Activities
  • Check customer's credit ratings with banks and decide whether or not to offer credit
  • Chase customers for payments on an allocated ledger, via telephone, email etc.
  • Allocate and reconcile payments received
  • Escalate potential bad debts to credit assessment and senior management and negotiating re-payment plans
  • Resolve customer queries and raise credit note paperwork
  • Run regular reports and conduct ledger reviews

Required Skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience of high volume credit control
  • Experienced user of SAP (Preferred)
  • Experience of managing customers who issue debit notes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Developed numeracy skills
