Roevin, part of the Adecco Group, is delighted to be working alongside our client, who is an independent tea and coffee company based in Yorkshire.
The client is looking for an Engineering Duty Manager to join the Engineering team. The Engineering Team is responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of all equipment used to roast, blend and pack our famous teas and coffees. The successful candidate should possess a range of engineering skills; software, electronic, electrical and mechanical as well as ensuring compliance with the ever changing legislation.

To help support the ambitious plans, the client is looking for an Engineering Duty Manager who will report into the Engineering Manager, will require:

- line management responsibility for the Maintenance Engineers on the specific shift. This includes workload, holidays, sickness, performance and training
- co-ordinate the planned and reactive maintenance activities of the engineers
- responsible for ensuring legislative compliance with the relevant regulations across operations
- facilitate engineering improvements (CI)
- feed into the Engineering strategy where appropriate
- liaise between internal and external stakeholders to maintain production efficiency

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in the FMCG / Food manufacturing environment and ideally with similar machinery

Technical skills / experience required:

- apprentice trained Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
- good level of IT skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- knowledge of Machinery Safety - PUWER & CE Marking. New Machinery Directive / British Standards
- good communicator both written and verbal
- relevant qualifications dependant on discipline

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to effectively organise themselves and others to deliver the reactive and planned maintenance needs of the shift and assist with improving the reliability of the machinery to avoid unnecessary downtime. As the Engineering Duty Manager, you need to be confident and self motivated and able to be flexible in line with the needs of the business. You will possess high levels of attention to detail and be able to effectively lead a team as well as work individually. The ability to identify problems and work with others to find solutions will be required, coupled with the drive energy and enthusiasm to develop within a Food / FMCG environment.

Shift pattern: 12 hour shifts on a 5 team rotation, working a 5 week pattern : 3 weeks of 2-3 days on then off, followed by a 10day rest period.
4 holidays can be taken whenever but all other time-off is factored into the salary and shift pattern.
Working week - approx. 32.5 hours a week
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year Day are not worked
Hours worked are days 7am - 7pm / nights 7pm - 7am
Buy and sell holidays, shift swaps
Meal Allowance approx. £517 pa

Salary - £51,765
