Tutor Team Leader - Internal Quality Assurance, Suffolk Region

YMCA Training has an exciting opportunity for a Tutor Team Leader in Internal Quality Assurance, ideally with an Early Years background, to manage, lead and develop apprenticeship tutors covering the Suffolk region.

The role can be home-based, with travel expenses for carrying out the role fully covered.

About the Role:

You will supervise and co-ordinate a multidisciplinary team of tutors across a range of programme areas to ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment opportunities.

You will be accountable for the conduct and performance of team members and performance to contracts within the Charity's operating processes.

You will also:
  • Select approaches and ways of working that model good practice, foster and develop a culture of team work, engagement, resilience and high performance
  • Develop a regular and structured review of staff performance
  • Identify any underperformance within teams and proactively manage this
  • Work with the National Scheduling Manager to ensure staff resources are deployed effectively to ensure cost effective delivery in line with delivery plans
  • Support the Skills Manager with robust staff recruitment processes
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and prevent, whilst promoting the welfare and safety of young people and vulnerable adults
  • Support the implementation of a whole organisation approach that supports continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment to meet learner and employer needs and goals
  • Work effectively with the Skills Manager and the Quality team to ensure tutors have the resources and skills required to prepare and manage OFSTED visits and inspections.
About You: You will have previous line management and coordination skills, as well as experience of leading on the implementation of systems and processes. You'll be highly organised, with demonstrated planning and time-management skills (supported by good IT skills). You will also need:
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent;
  • Assessor and IQA qualified;
  • Significant experience of delivering teaching, learning and assessment;
  • Knowledge of the skills and employment sector;
  • Relevant successful learning support experience to be able to devise individual learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs and barriers of learning.
  • Ability to drive and travel to a range of locations to deliver teaching, learning and assessment opportunities.
