Our client is a leading services company based in Stockport and due to projected growth is seeking to appoint to a newly created role of Financial Accountant (EMEA). This will be a unique and challenging role and due to it being a new role you will be able to create and help shape how the role develops moving forward.

The post holder will be responsible for providing technical accounts support to Corporate Services and Operations in EMEA (currently 23 countries). In this hands-on role you will support the regional accounting and compliance function, advise the business on a wide range of UK, EU, and international accounting matters, and liaise with external auditors, advisors and local statutory authorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare UK Statutory Accounts according to FRS 102 (currently 5 active companies and 1 holding company) using Onesource Accounts Production software
  • Prepare the Netherlands Statutory Accounts according to Dutch GAAP (currently 1 active company) using Onesource Accounts Production software
  • In-house preparation of other EMEA applicable local statutory accounts using Microsoft word (approx. 9 companies)
  • Review EMEA accounts prepared by third parties for accuracy and resolution of any queries
  • Review or prepare US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliations for the EMEA region
  • Maintain EMEA Statutory Ledgers in Oracle through reconciliations and journal entry
  • Ensure final accounts are signed by directors and filed according to local legislation and statutory deadlines
  • Manage the statutory audit and relationship with auditors where applicable in EMEA, ensuring timely preparation of audit deliverables and query resolution, including liaison with the various departments (Payroll, Credit Control, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable and Tax) in order to compile and send information to the auditors.
  • Support the annual Audit and Accounts Engagement letter process
  • Prepare management accounts according to local GAAP in support of dividend planning, tax provision preparation or other needs of the business.
  • Identify and support cash repatriation opportunities, in line with regional strategies and the commercial objectives of the Company.
  • Support the provision of statutory accounting advice to the businesses, including:
  • Support other adhoc accounting projects as needed including due diligence activities for potential acquisitions.

The role will suit either a first time mover looking for their first role in industry or someone all ready in-house seeking a new challenge. It essential you are a fully qualified accountant with proven experience of producing statutory information coupled with the ability to influence and manage effective working relationships with other departments and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
