Insight Analyst (IA)

The Practice is one of the UK's leading providers of primary care services and delivers specialist clinical services. They also operate a growing network of surgeries, delivering an effective infrastructure which allows their GPs to concentrate on their core skill of practicing medicine.

Position: Insight Analyst (IA)
Location: Rose House, Little Chalfont (some national travel anticipated)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £37,000 to £43,000 per annum DOE.
Benefits: Approximate NHS Band 7, depending upon experience

About the role:

The IA role is key to leveraging the value of health data (especially primary care) via analysis, visualisation and interpretation into actionable insight. The IA will use their analytical skills and experience to work across the business to translate health data into opportunities (but also data from operations, finance, quality and assurance, business development). Key to the success of the IA will be the ability to embed themselves into the business and develop relationships with decision makers.

Responsibilities:

- Maximise the information held within existing data sets and systems, including complex data management and manipulation
- Analyse (exploration, forecasting, modelling) and interpret complex information (visualisation, translation), including both quantitative and qualitative, from a wide range of sources taking account of confidentiality and the limitations of the data used.
- Presenting complex and sophisticated information in a meaningful way to increase organisational knowledge and enable evidence-based decision making.
- Utilisation of contemporaneous analytics methodologies / technologies (i.e. Azure Machine Learning, Predictive / Prescriptive Analytics, Impact Analysis, Process Modelling, Information Gain, Regression).
- Implementing standard analytical tools including benchmarking, confidence intervals, statistical process control, demand forecasting, trend analysis and visualisation techniques.
- Hypothesis testing.
- Engage with the key stakeholders to generate / support their analysis requirements.
- Support projects that involve analytics or data interpretation.
- You will be expected to contribute to the longer-term evolution of, BI, analytics and insight development.
- Support and engage with key stakeholders, in relation to BI, Analytics and associated Infrastructure.
- To be aware of national developments within the NHS and the wider Business Intelligence community.

About you:

- Resolution focussed with a desire to be part of an enabling culture.
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area - information / data analysis / statistics.
- Experience of health data and analysis.
- Excellent data manipulation & interpretation skills using advanced MS Excel.
- Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend appropriate course of action to address the issues.
- Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
- Attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex analysis.
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse.
- Skills for communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
- Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality about both patient and corporate information.
- Knowledge of national policy on and priorities and associated requirements in relation to data and information. Thorough understanding of GDPR and regulations governing Patient Identifiable Information and Sensitive Information.
- The ability to prioritise own workload and work flexibly to meet organisational needs.
- Proven experience in working to and achieving deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team or under their own initiative, be self-motivated and to manage workload and projects through to completion.
- Ability to offer advice and guidance on complex analysis, results and information, to senior managers for performance management and service improvement.

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of health data, especially Primary Care.
- Knowledge of Population Health Analytics.
- Knowledge of Health Economics.
- Python / R.
- Power BI.
- SSIS, SSAS, SQL.
- Machine Learning.
- Experience of using clinical systems e.g. TPP SystmOne, IPS Vision, EMIS, CareNotes, Rio.
