Obligations Technical Support ManagerLocation: Ipswich, Hatfield or Bristol Why this role mattersThis critical role exists to ensure secure, accurate and timely compliance with lawful requests for assistance and the disclosure of information requested by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Courts and other persons or organisations entitled under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) and other legislation which requires mandatory compliance (In the future this regulation will be under the IPA 2016).You are authorised to access, use or disclose customer information only when you need to do so to perform your operational duties. Any other access, use, or disclosure may only be made on receipt of additional authority from the information owner.*Attaining and maintaining security clearance is a requirement of your role.What you'll be doingIn particular the role holder is responsible for: -Leading in the maintenance and in life support of Lawful Interception (LI) and data retention and disclosure systems.Leading in the the service management of all new and future D&I products and services and will also be responsible for management and resolution of technical and complex query escalations from the D&I team.The management of the maintenance of LI capabilities on the mobile, fixed and WiFi networks (both in the UK and overseas) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and HMG security requirements whilst protecting the interests of the business.Leading in meeting business objectives, solving business problems and furthering business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high level solutions on projects or the development of operational processes and procedures.Leading and leveraging the experience of the relevant BT wide professional communities to discharge these responsibilities, ensuring knowledge sharing extends beyond the functional boundary of the role.To provide analytical and innovative input to projects/operational support tasks as well as support negotiations.Lead transformation strategy for a network or technology discipline in own area of expertise.Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.Ensure that robust operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed as appropriate.Leading the liaising with internal, external and third party suppliers.Personally participating in and contributing to BT wide professional community activities where applicable e.g. knowledge sharing, best practice within BT and external industry.Using the relevant BT wide professional community framework to raise their skills and those of their team to the recommended PC standards. Ensuring breaches and errors are kept to a minimum and investigated.Any breaches or errors will be reported at the earliest opportunity and mitigating action initiated.Ensure Skills are current to deliver full Operational capability on platforms within the Network / Systems portfolio.
