Alexander Daniels are working in partnership with a Global leading FMCG organisation in the Gloucestershire area to recruit a Senior Management Accountant with experience in stock and inventory being essential.

The Senior Management Accountant will work within an extremely strong finance function, but will act as lead on the stock and inventory side of my clients largest Division. The Senior Management Accountant will provide timely and accurate management information specifically for inventory and cost of sales to provide insight on current and future performance.

The core responsibilities of the Senior Management Accountant will be:
  • To deliver commentary to senior stakeholders related to the results for group stock, cost of sales adjustments and intercompany
  • Organising meeting with key stakeholders to explain monthly results
  • Reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts in respect of inventory highlighting any risks and opportunities ensuring things are documented and communicated appropriately
  • Ensuring stock holding within the financials have been reconciled in the operating systems
  • Ensuring any irregularities in the accounts have been documented, reported on and feedback to the necessary stakeholders
  • Submit the final inventory details for the monthly management accounts pack
  • Ensure controls are strong and month end runs as efficiently as possible
  • Reviewing existing processes and improving as necessary
  • Supporting the auditors and ensuring a clean audit
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Ensuring a commercial understanding of underlying performance of relevant business areas
  • Supervising two Assistant Accountants

To be considered for this role the Senior Management Accountant will be:
  • A Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experienced in a similar role with an understanding of inventory accounting in a large fast paced organisation that move high volumes of stock
  • Able to deliver against strict deadlines
  • Naturally driven and able to take a proactive approach
  • A competent finance systems user
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Able to lead a small team
