Technical Specialist - Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance

Permanent Role
£42,000, plus shift allowance
Full rotating shift pattern including days, nights and weekends

Our client is a leading manufacturer of construction products and is currently developing their maintenance division to include Technical Specialists in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance

As an advocate of change improvement, you will work with the maintenance team to establish and meet planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure that production runs efficiently across the plant.

You will be a competent time served Mechanical Engineer who is responsible for continually improving performance of equipment / systems to support the development of the site and to contribute to the engineering function meeting its service, quality and costs targets.

Skills required:
Time Served Mechanical Engineer
HNC/D or BTECH 3/5 in mechanical or production maintenance engineering
Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements

Duties/responsibilities:
Has the authority to request parts and services from the maintenance revenue budget
Be an active member of the weekly performance reviews/maintenance & planning reviews
Help define, plan and lead maintenance tasks, including operations autonomous maintenance
Monitor plant operational efficiency and reliability identifying areas of under performance and implement plans to deliver improvements
Drive route cause analysis to identify and implement preventative solutions (Own area action plans)
Support successful implementation of new projects
Ensure breakdowns/repair information is logged on CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
Ensure that procedures as defined in the maintenance manuals are correctly implemented
