Senior Planning and Trading Manager job, based in London, £500-625 day rate, 3 months contract

My client, the UK's leading Telecommunications provider, are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead their Trading and Planning area of the business. You will be the one truth across the SME organisation for the clients immediate and 5 year volume & value numbers. You will be working collaboratively across multiple departments and will need to have great communication skills, ability to succinctly translate the complex into the easy to understand, and have a deep understanding of the SME Market.
You will get to work on exciting future launches, including new Mobile technologies and IOT and help shape the future strategy for the SME organisation across the business.

A passion for numbers, detail and planning is key.

What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for forecasting the volume and value products for SME. You'll spend a lot of time acquiring an excellent knowledge of the external market context such as competitor positioning, as well as the internal landscape such as new props to market.

Your Accountabilities
* Delivering best in class end to end trading planning and trading execution for the SME market
* Drive continuous improvement to the performance framework by which actual performance is judged against targets and clear insight / remedial actions are driven at a director level
* Deliver the single point of truth for trading numbers, outcomes vs targets and the collated insight from across the SME segment including sales and service
* Own the creation, stress testing and update of the 5-year medium term plan (MTP) and budget (BRF) for all products and overlay the plan with an understanding of the market and other large scale interventions across the business - new props launches, capability changes and other capex cases
* Work closely with the finance team on MTP/budget, creating all the key inputs and ensuring the financial targets are hydraulic and linked properly to business enablers/outcomes rather than just a financially driven trend
* Be a subject matter expert on all activities that are to deliver in the mid to long-term future
* Help drive the Digital agenda and be the Digital lead across the SME Commercial team

Experience & Skills required for this role.
* Carried out a similar Planning/Trading role previously
* Experience in Telco, preferably SME but not necessary
* Able to take a collaborative approach
* Have a transformational mindset
* Strategic thinker linking vision to delivery
* An ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects, working to tight deadlines
* Fantastic communicator with the ability to gain support from Stakeholders at all levels
* Proactive approach to mitigating risks
* Manages conflicting priorities for successful delivery
* Ability to manage and develop a delivery team, inspire, motivate and improve performance
