Senior Data Insight Coordinator vacancy in Leicester
£32,230 - £34,846 per annum plus 30 days annual leave & many other generous benefits

Hays IT are working with a large education establishment in the Leicester area to recruit a Data Insight Coordinator to lead a team of Analysts within the IT Team.

The team you will manage are responsible for performing statistical analysis to produce actionable insights used to influence organisational decision making, data mining and retrieval processes on large complex data sets, to identify trends, figures and other relevant management information; coordinate data analysis and reporting, working closely with colleagues across to turn data into insight identifying future trends, managing data requirements to perform predictive modelling and improving data/systems to make this possible.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Lead on the creation and maintenance of a wide range of routine, bespoke management dashboards to assist with decision making and planning processes and meet the needs of the Senior Leadership Team, staff and governors and the requirements of external organisations and agencies, including ESFA and other bodies; coordinate the process of producing learner number funding and planning reports to aid College strategic decisions.

* Lead, motivate and develop a team of Insight Analysts performing statistical analysis, data mining and retrieval processes on a large amount of data, to identify trends, figures and other relevant information; ensure a first class service is delivered to all stakeholders.

* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the College to identify College information and information systems needs and deliver systems, reports and analysis to meet those needs.

* Coordinate, develop and implement applications and systems which meet the requirements of the College and support the strategic plan, ensuring that working procedures are adapted or introduced to support new systems.

* Coordinate the design and maintenance of system back-ups to enable effective data recovery in the event of system failure or data-loss or a system related disaster.

* Coordinate system upgrades and apply software patches to student record databases and other associated software including maintaining operating systems and servers, in accordance with IT Services' protocols.

* Co-ordinate the design, implementation, configuration, testing, documentation maintenance and licensing of databases and software applications, using proprietary software or other programming techniques as agreed with MIS Manager.

* Ensure that systems and processes are maintained during any transition period of student records, funding or associated software migration or upgrade; minimise or avoid systems 'down time' by the careful planning and scheduling of upgrade and development work.

* Manage the production and maintenance of up to date procedural and recovery documentation for MIS systems and technical processes.

Experience/skills required in order to apply:

* Relevant Degree or substantial experience of system and user support

* Experience of successfully leading a team of data/insight analysts and delivering excellent standards of customer service.

* Extensive experience of working with large complex datasets. Interpreting this data and cross correlating to other data sets to produce relevant executive insights and dashboards.

* Extensive experience writing complex queries in SQL as well as a background in integration of datasets and data warehousing

* Extensive experience of data dashboards e.g. Microsoft Power BI.

* Extensive experience of using complex data sets to forecast future trends, and articulate these to senior leaders in non-technical manner.

* Experience of Software Development Lifecycle Management. System upgrades, patching including an appreciation of Operating Systems and Server Technology.

* Extensive knowledge of student management information system(s) and associated data protection regulations.

* Experience of Tribal EBS, Pro Monitor, Pro Achieve Smart Assessor - desirable.
