About us:

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is the public body tasked with investing over £7 billion a year to push back the frontiers of knowledge and understanding so we can improve economic performance and support society to be enriched, healthy, resilient and sustainable.

About the role:

The Programme Management Office within UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join their newly formed organisation. If you have experience in financial and project management and tracking and reporting, we welcome your application.

As the Senior Management Accountant, you will lead Management Accountants on the monthly management reporting of significant government Official Development Assistant funds (ODA).

You will primarily be responsible for preparing the forecasting and reporting on BEIS ODA spend and highlighting areas of potential concern before they materialise. You will not only lead on standard financial reporting (i.e. Financial Year, accruals based), but also on the reporting required for OECD-DAC statistical information (i.e. spend on a calendar year & cash basis).

This is a high profile, externally focussed role. You will lead a team of two Management Accountants. Your team will be providing reports that directly feed into the ODA research and innovation board and work closely with colleagues in BEIS and other government departments.

You will have a part or fully CCAB, CIMA or equivalent qualification or will be qualified by experience. Strong negotiating skills are also key to ensure that positive relationships are built, as a key feature of the work is delivery through partnership.

Excellent project management skills will be needed, including the ability to work flexibly, and to plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of projects and activities with different timescales, priorities and delivery mechanisms. Furthermore, a good understanding of the importance of data security including the appropriate use of individual data, confidentiality and anonymity is key to this role.

What we offer:

We recognise and value employees as individuals and aim to provide a pay and rewards package that motivates staff to perform to the best of their ability. This includes opportunities to develop your career through training and personal development, a flexible working scheme, 30 days annual leave, an onsite nursery and a number of other benefits.

How to apply:

Please note, when you click apply you will be directed through to our TopCareers.jobs website where you will be asked to complete the application process

The closing date for applications is 19th August 2019.
