Our Reading based client is recruiting for a UX/UI Designer to join their team.

As a UX/UI Designer you'll contribute to one of our key SaaS platforms by delivering insightful, well-conceived and validated design experiences that surprise and delight our customers with product excellence and innovation. You'll work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to create holistic experiences that, when encountered, are more human and helpful.

Role and responsibilities
  • Design the UX/UI of the UKs largest corporate payments platform, transacting billions of pounds each month
  • Be hands on in all stages of the end-to-end design lifecycle, from discovery and design, through to testing and implementation
  • Take responsibility for the end-users' voice in the design process
  • Value and be skilled in, storytelling, critiquing and presenting, to enable UX activities
  • Elicit user feedback by conducting interviews; be thoughtful, measured, and good at listening
  • Support the planning and execution of design and research activities, such as usability testing, heuristic reviews, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, task flow analysis and customer journey mapping
  • Analyse research findings from investigation and experiment activities and distil insights/results into compelling UX artefacts, such as task models and experience maps
  • Document the user experience by creating personas, user flows, sketches, wireframes, prototypes and suchlike; report on the status of delivery and notify of any risks or issues
  • Be responsible for the quality of your thinking and deliverables on the projects you work on; communicate the ideas and rationale that have informed the design approach
  • Adopt a quality assurance role within projects; have a keen eye for detail and understand that constructive feedback is at the heart of creating effective design solutions
  • Encourage and mentor the more junior members of the team; support them in developing their craft further

The Person
  • You continually challenge yourself to think creatively and broaden the skills you already have
  • You have a good understanding of and passion for user-centred design principles
  • Adopts a user-centred approach from research through to delivery
  • Knowledge of the overall UX design process and a firm understanding of design in general
  • Ability to define and document design solutions, such as process flows, site maps, wireframes and prototypes
  • Proficiency working with contemporary tools for producing specifications, flow diagrams, prototypes and visual design assets, such as Miro, Sketch, Adobe CS, UXPin and InVision
  • Experience in designing accessible solutions across desktop and mobile
  • Experience working alongside a multi-disciplined team in a continuous and iterative way, ideally as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines
  • Experience using techniques from the design thinking toolkit, is a plus
  • Knowledge of UX research methodologies both qualitative and quantitative, is a plus
  • Experience with Design Systems, grid frameworks and creating style guides, is a plus
  • Substantial experience in UX or Product/Graphic Design, of which 2+ years' in a UX design role
  • A recognised Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent is preferred or similar commercial experience
  • A portfolio showing the above is essential
