The West Midlands Police are currently looking for a diligent and capable Pensions Officer to join their expanding team based in Lloyd House in Birmingham city centre. You will be responsible for providing a customer focused efficient pension service to a range of stakeholders

  • As a member of the pension's team you will resolve detailed issues on calculations and reconciliations as necessary.
  • Processing and calculating transfers in
  • Assisting retiring officers in regards to all pensions related queries to ensure their exiting the business is smooth whilst adhering to the agreed SLA
  • Processing and calculating pension benefits
  • Ensuring the West Midland's Police internal systems are accurate and up to date
  • Giving pensions advice to West Midlands Police personnel

  • Extensive experience within a pensions environment specifically in the public sector
  • The ability to produce pension calculations and solid experience of interpreting, communicating and applying the pension regulations is essential.
  • You will need to be an excellent communicator - You will be in contact with a range of stakeholders including police office so an ability to converse with a wide audience is crucial
  • An ability to hit the ground running and quickly understand the police's internal systems
  • A good understanding of MS packages with the inclusion of excel (formulas, tables etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • You must be well organised, able to prioritise your own workload and work to strict deadlines.
  • An In-depth knowledge of Pensions products and their regulatory requirements
  • A knowledge of payroll processes and systems
  • Experience using itrent or delphi pay rolling systems
