Reed Accountancy are recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader for a business based in Exeter.

In order to be considered, you will need experience of working in a Payroll Bureau. You will support the Manager in leading a team of payroll administrators to ensure the many varied deadlines are met and excellent client service is delivered whilst managing your own portfolio of payroll clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To have a strong working knowledge of payroll requirements and to be able to tackle questions from both the team and clients and problem solve.
  • To be able to process payrolls for more complex clients including managing own client portfolio.
  • To effectively manage the many varied deadlines for payroll services, providing timely feedback and updates to the Manager.
  • To have pension and auto-enrolment experience, be able to process pension uploads with various scheme providers, to have been involved in the commencement and ongoing administration of a scheme including understanding the various correspondence that is required as employees are enrolled or opt out.
  • To have knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and be able to process sub-contractors payments, understand the verification process and deduction of CIS tax.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to the team in absence of the Manager.
  • Assisting the Manager with staff training on both technical and software developments to ensure optimum output is being achieved from the team.
  • Deputise for the Manager as required.
  • To assist the Manager in building a team that aligns with the company values, have strong team ethics with a can do attitude and embrace enhancements in a fast paced environment.
  • To have excellent client relationship skills, to be able to build strong relationships and handle client queries in a positive and client focused manner.
  • To support the Manager in growing the business, undertaking business appropriate development activities, meeting potential new clients as required and assisting with strengthening the online presence of the business.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Bureau payroll provision: 5 years (Required)
