My client is an international award winning engineering, management and development services organisation based in south London. With operations in over 150 different countries they have an enviable portfolio of some of the most interesting and challenging engineering projects in the world.

They are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a 12 months fixed term basis. You will support both the regional and group financial and management accounts teams (initially financial), reviewing consolidated quarterly and annual financial accounts, and monthly review of balance sheet account reconciliations.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Assisting in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial accounts for the Group which includes in excess of 60 subsidiary companies, many of which are overseas, and preparation/review of statutory notes and disclosures
• Assisting in the preparation and review of commentaries, graphs and ratios on the quarterly group consolidated accounts
• Assisting in the preparation and review of accounts for some centrally maintained companies
• Monthly review of balance sheet account reconciliations including inter-company accounts
• Ensure compliance with Group directives and procedures on financial matters
• Providing support to the Regional / Group Financial Accountant on ad hoc tasks as required
• Involvement in the move from the current ERP system to the new one as required

Key requirements:
• A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) or alternatively someone qualified by relevant experience
• Must be a good communicator (both written and verbal) and confident in dealing with senior management
• Conversant in the use of Excel and experience of other accounting systems
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Strong analytical skills with a good eye for detail
• Ability to see tasks through to conclusion
• Experience of supervision or mentoring
• Ability to work well in a team
