About the role

James Fisher Nuclear (JFN) is looking to recruit a Part Qualified Management Accountant to work on a permanent basis from our office in Bamber Bridge near Preston.

Within this Divisional role, you will be working closely with key operational management and across a portfolio of projects within JFN. You will be responsible for the reporting, management information but also adding value through business partnering with the wider projects and commercial team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter seeking to work with an organisation from a grass roots level, ensuring that current processes and controls are fit for purpose whist implementing improvements where necessary. With the added dimension of working within the more mature JFN projects arena, developing management information and working closely with the delivery teams.

As a Part Qualified Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Build strong working relationships across all aspects of the business.
  • Partner with senior commercial and operational managers to ensure accurate financial information is recorded and developed across all projects within your portfolio.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of Monthly Management Accounts including;
  • Profit and Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Supporting commentary
  • Own and develop both the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Supporting a variety of financial projects designed to improve current processes and systems.
  • Support in areas such as annual statutory accounts, VAT and tax computations.
  • Continuously seek to develop and enhance existing practices across the Division.
  • Support the wider finance function, to aid in the delivery of accurate financial and management information.

Part Qualified Management Accountant with following attributes:-
  • Have the ambition and drive to develop their career within a growth hungry organisation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across levels within the business.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build relationships quickly and be of a robust nature.
  • Have a history of academic achievement.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Have intermediate levels of MS Excel.
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised
