An Information Asset Manager (Register role) is required for our large central government client based in Exeter, for an initial 6 months contract.

Job Purpose

Through engagement with Information Asset Owners and key stakeholders, develop a process to identify data and corporate information assets that are required to deliver services (known as "critical" and "high value" information assets) enabling IAO's to set up and manage an Information Asset Register.

Set up Information Asset Registers in line with the organisations standards, develop a process that allows IAOs to easily undertake an information risk and business impact assessment to enable them to identify assets that need protection from accidental or intentional unauthorised sharing. This will assist in determining which assets are recorded on Registers?and which assets are subject to data loss prevention measures. Support the new KIM Adviser in developing a consolidated Information Asset Register and processes for the on-going assessment, capture and management of Information Asset Registers as part of the transitionary activity to business as usual.?Support the new KIM Adviser in setting up channels of engagement with Information Asset Owners and their Guardians to support them in fulfilling their obligations to manage risks and opportunities in relation to their information assets?

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Excellent understanding of information asset management principles and information risk management

Ability to influence and work with senior stakeholders and extract critical key information quickly and effectively and translate this into clear and concise English

Pragmatic approach to delivering outcomes while maintaining quality and attention to detail

Proven experience in working autonomously with a variety of stakeholders in line with simple and better ways of working, including organisational skills, facilitation and event management

A track record of excellent written and verbal communication skills?reflecting an ability to clearly and succinctly communicate with a varied audience in various ways and to challenge constructively

The ability to self-prioritise whilst working collaboratively with the immediate team and with other key stakeholders

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

SC cleared or willing to undergo

Experience in implementing, reviewing and improving information risk management practices in an organisation?

Evidence of multi-tasking, self-prioritising (where appropriate) and dealing with conflicting and tight deadlines

Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO9001 &ISO27001) Cabinet Office Cyber Security Standard (COMCSS, Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) and Cyber Essentials+ (CE+)
