Our Client, a leading electronics company are looking for an IT Technician to join their growing team.

Purpose of the Role

To support the department in managing the administration of their network, including the Windows environment, backups, telephone system, security andaccess control.

Further duties include

Collating information with regards to PCIand GDPR compliance.

The primary function is to be the first point of contact for all IT issues and to resolve or escalate them as necessary.

Key Accountability Supporting Structure

The IT Technician works within the IT department and reports directly to the Technology and Process Manager. Other members of the team will be on hand for advice and guidance as will our third-party support company.

The IT Technician is responsible for supporting the department with the administration of the various environments within the organisation.

The core of which are:

• To be the first point of contact for internal enquiries to the IT department

• To administrate the user base

• To monitor backups and other disaster recovery processes

• Collate and regularly review regulatory compliance documents

• To independently identify, record and escalate issues

Responsibilities and Company Core Values

  • Positively contribute to and engage with the IT department
  • The routine administration of Active Directory and user set up
  • (including phone system and Office 365)
  • Build and maintain PCs, laptops and printers
  • Monitor backups and escalate issues as necessary
  • Administrate the VMware environment and network devices
  • Assist with management of software updates
  • Source hardware and software
  • To record, resolve and, if necessary, escalate issues reported
  • or discovered
  • Collate and regularly review PCI/GDPR compliance
  • Confidence to communicate with all levels of staff calmly and professionally
  • An eagerness to learn and to seek out areas of interest for company and own development. Training is available and encouraged.
  • Good experience of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Experience using Active Directory to manage users and computers
  • Address problems in a positive way
