Are you an exceptional Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant? Do you value the importance of ensuring every child receives an education? Have you got experience working with a range of different behavioral and SEN needs?

If this sounds like you, our SEN TA role is perfect for you. The role would involve working within an alternative provision in Exeter with secondary aged pupils. You would work alongside highly competent and experienced colleagues who all hold the pupil's best interests first. Working 1:1 alongside a pupil within the provision, this role would enable you to direct the pupils learning to help to ensure that they were making satisfactory progress within all areas of their learning. You would build a relationship up with the pupil to enable them to feel inspired and empowered by education.

Requirements

* Access to own vehicle is a must
* Previous experience working with children is a must
* Proficiency in Makaton, MAPA and Team Teach etc. is desirable, but not necessary
* Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent, desirable
* Work with pupils both inside the classroom and elsewhere to encourage independence, maintain personal confidence
* Bring issues of concern to the class teacher to ensure pupils behave in class and engage appropriately

Responsibilities
* Support the ethos of the school by implementing the Behaviour policy and school expectations
* Encourage and support other staff in the appropriate management of a variety of conditions
* Ensure that pupils are properly safeguarded and supported
* Support basic administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and displaying work
* Supervise pupils at break times where and when designated
