Calibration Technician/Mechanical Inspector - Permanent - Excellent Salary - Early - Late - Rotating weekly shift.

To carry out Calibration / Inspection duties and maintain the required high standards of

quality in accordance with defined company specifications, procedures and inspection levels.

Main Duties/Responsibilities (50% Calibration / 50% Inspection)

Calibration Support

Supporting the calibration Technician and functions within the Calibration department.

Publish weekly recall list and action.

Locating Overdue items and processing in accordance with procedures.

Gather in and calibration of equipment (mechanical & electrical).

Obtain quotations and raise purchase orders for calibration of equipment sent out and arrange visits for calibration of in-house equipment where required.

Issuing of gauges when required by production.

Maintain the Gauge Tool Management (GTM) database.

Entering new gauging/equipment on the GTM database and storing gauges in the Supply Point System (SPS).

Inspection

Inspection of precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly, sub- contractors and suppliers.

First off inspection.

First article inspection (FAI) and reporting.

Update and maintain paperwork associated with inspection procedures.

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers when required.

Source inspection (VAS inspect at suppliers)

Skills

* Experience in using precision measuring equipment

* Good understanding of Mechanical Inspection & Calibration techniques

* Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2001 and ideally AS9100 Rev D

* PC literate - Word, Excel and database experience

* Work well in a team environment with good communication skills

* To have an organised and methodical approach

* Manufacturing experience (mechanical)

* Calibration experience essential

* Inspection experience essential

* Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings

* Ability to interpret Geometric Tolerances

* Experience of advanced planning for inspection methodology (Gauging, CMM, Shadow Graph, General Inspection Equipment etc) and create an Inspection plan.

* Preferred - CMM experience

* Preferred - Visual Fair Software (FAIR)

* Preferred - Tensile testing experience for Product Quality Testing (PQT)

* Preferred - Universal Linear Measurement (ULM).

* Equipment for measuring thread, plug and ring gauges etc

Qualifications

Mechanical engineering apprenticeship

Experience

Minimum of 3 years experience, working in an inspection or calibration environment.

Early Shift:: 06:00am - 12:00pm Monday to Friday

Friday 12:30pm-4:30pm

Late Shift: 12:30pm - 9:00pm Monday to Thursday

Friday 12:30pm-4:30pm
